Woo Hoo! Been through one of the big events in BMT, which is the field camp! For those who doesn't know, field camp is a camp that requires recruits to go outfield and stay at the campsite for 7 days 6 nights (Pes A & B). But as I am Ah Gua Peng (Pes C), I'm informed that my field camp will be 4 days 3 nights! Well....that's something to be happy about I guess...But...wuz even better is that my field camp was only 3 days 2 nights! How better can that be....
Ok, let's talk about my field camp... First day was dedicated to building our basha ( field shelter, tentage)... While building the basha, I almost got to take confinements! Here's what happened; I did not take my dinner before booking in, thus, resulting my weak body on the first day of camp. While building our basha, we have to wear our helmets, S.B.O (Skeletal Battle Order) and hang on to our rifles!! It's not easy honestly.. so...being weak, I decided to put down my rifle so that I can proceed building my basha more smoothly.
"Build Build Build.... Ah...finally done..."
*Turns around to get back my rifle*
"OH WTF?! WHERE IS MY RIFLE??"
"Hey guys.... Anyone saw my rifle??"
someone replied "Platoon Sergent took it already lah.."
"Oh Fuck....This is Shit man..."
*Approach Platoon Sergent*
"Err....Platoon Sergent ah...My rifle........"
Platoon Sergent : " Mou de, you owe me one sentry ah..."
*lan lan suck thumb*
"Yes Platoon Sergent...."
Well...So I thought..." Wah Liao Eh...Mou ah Mou...how can you be so stupid....this is the simplest of rules to abide to loh....like that also can happen?"
but my excuse for myself was " Aiyah...I am feeling weak...so naturally...I will feel blur also wat..."
Well nevermind...Sentry duty is just for the camp site itself....it's ok..not that bad a punishment for such a big mistake...
BUT....Heaven was on my side! We were only taught how to do Sentry Duty on the THIRD day...which is our LAST day of camp! and Sentry is only done at night! Which means.....I DON'T NEED TO DO!! Hoo HaA!!
Moving on to food... Our meals were supplied to us in forms of Combat Ration.. Which means everything is vacuum packed and designed for portability. The first pack of main course I took was "Chicken Noodles with Tomato Basil Sauce". Well....for combat ration...I must say that it's nice...some how better than cookhouse food... haha no joke.. Then at night...we did field cooking.. in a tactical way. Meaning? means....when we cook, no fire or smoke should be in sight... how is field cooking done? First, you dig a trench with the Entrenching Tool, deep and long enough to accomodate 5 pieces of solid fuel. Then you have to place the mass tins ( metal square container used to cook) in such a way that no fire can escape, yet not fusing off.. Yeah...this is tactical cooking... one of the groups failed to do so and guess what happened?
*Sergent came running with the jerry can (huge container to carry water) towards the non-tactical chefs*
"FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE!!"
*Sergent Pours water onto the cooking site*
"YOU ALL FUCKING HELL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS TACTICAL COOKING IZZIT? DIDN'T I SAY I DUN WANNA SEE SMOKE OR FIRE?"
Whoosh...that was one hell of a joke man...hahaha
In the end...I guess they had to munch on combat rations ba?
As for my field cooking...Tactical was there...BUT...my while cooking.... a few bugs (like 7 or 8?) took a dive into my soup...so...yeah...not very nice eh? But no choice lah...just bear with it once and for all... Looking on the brighter side...I'm not the worst...My sections mate, Jonny Alpha, his soup base is the swimming pool for 20 over bugs... yeah u read that..20 over... real sick.... wuz best?
He finished everything.....
Alright...nuff said..
I felt disgusted to go on...
upcoming events are : Rifle range (yeah baby...time to show some skills....)
Grenade Throw (erm...excuse me Sir...do I throw this round thing?
or do I throw this pin?)
OC night ( "OC Sir, how old are you?" [one question I really wish to know])
